Padang’s 125,000 students will participate in Ramadan Islamic School activities

Padang, W Sumatra (ANTARA) – At least 125,000 primary and junior high school students in Padang, West Sumatra will participate in activities at the Ramadan Islamic boarding school organized by the local government from 9 to April 28, 2022.

“This Ramadhan ponderren (Islamic boarding school) aims to shift the learning process from schools to mosques and focus more on religion classes,” Padang Mayor Hendri Septa said Monday in Padang after the meeting. inauguration of the 1443 Hijri Ramadan Pesantren.

Ramadan Islamic boarding school activities will take place in 1,270 mosques and musalla.

According to Septa, with the COVID-19 pandemic ongoing, students will be supervised by their respective teachers.

Ramadan learning materials begin with memorizing Quran, Dhikr, stories of prophets and companions, with the theme of realizing a strong generation of mosque-loving culture.

The Islamic Ramadan Boarding School will be attended by students in grades 4 to 6 of primary school and grades 7 to 9 of junior high school, from dawn until after Zuhr.

During Ramadan, non-Muslim students can go to their respective places of worship.

He noted that Ramadanpéeren is a commitment of the administration of Padang, so that students can always practice their religious teachings.

“This is the 18th implementation, and it was not implemented in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” he remarked.

During the implementation, the city government of Padang collaborated with Imam Bonjol State Islamic University of Padang.

Meanwhile, Ustad Abdul Somad, who was also present at the launch, opined that the Ramadan Poidsren program could be passed on to the current younger generation by regional leaders.

“The position of district chiefs, mayors and governors is for a while. Therefore, make a program that can be passed on to children and grandchildren, one of which is Ramadan paitreren,” he said. he points out.
