Miner arrested after fleeing Findlay police with guns in his pockets
FINDLAY, Ohio (WTVG) – A minor has been arrested and faces charges after he had a gun in a Taco Bell in Findlay and attempted to flee from police when approached.
Findlay police were called to the Taco Bell on W. Trenton Avenue just after 12:30 pm Monday. The appellant said the dripping from the gun could be seen in the miner’s pocket.
Before officers arrived, the suspect exited the building to the parking lot and was talking to someone in a car. When the police made contact, they told the suspect to take his hands out of his pockets, but he refused and started to run away. He was apprehended a short distance away.
Two handguns were recovered, including one reported stolen in North Baltimore.
No one was injured and no threats were made. The minor faces charges of carrying a concealed weapon, resisting arrest, obstructing official business and receiving stolen property. Additional charges may be incurred due to the proximity of schools in the town of Findlay to the incident.
The suspect was held at the Wood County Juvenile Detention Center.
